Illinois Senior Olympics -- August 22, Springfield IL 

Congratulations to Ron Sholes and Bob Derber of Springfield, who scored a 67.79% game to win the gold medal in the 2024 Senior Olympics event.

The silver medal went to Paul Bridges, Swansea and Robert Cundall, Collinsville. Winners of the bronze medal were Pete Ashbrook, Champaign and Tom Shedlock, Danville.

This annual contest drew 13 tables of players ages 55 and over. Congratulations to the winners and runners-up:

October 1-31 -- Club Appreciation Month championships, Local clubs

This month, all clubs can host two championships per sanctioned session. This is in addition to the regular quarter club championship. The games offer extra masterpoints (black points, 85 percent of sectional rating). Team games also pay 5-percent gold points. Ask your club manager for the dates of the games in your area.
