Have you joined the virtual bridge games!

Since most face-to-face bridge games are still not being held, the Central and Southern Illinois Virtual Bridge Club is thriving. Again, I’m including a schedule below of the weekly games plus free lessons that are being offered.

In addition to the regular games, special games are also offered. During September 21-29, a Stardust GOLD Points Week was held. During this week, masterpoint awards were double regular club rating, but with one big difference: The awards were 25% gold and 75% black!!! The games were the same low price of $5 per game. Extra games were also added, so there was a total of fourteen games to choose from! Be sure to check the website or visit our Facebook page to find out all that is being offered.

Donna Swick from Effingham has compiled statistics on the virtual games, which may be interesting to all of you. The virtual games began in April and have been running for nearly six months. There are currently 10 different games. Although each type of game obviously averages a different number of tables, the overall average of tables per game is 14, with the highest being the mentor/mentee game held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. The total number of games that have been played is a 2202.

These are pretty impressive statistics, and even better, almost 80 percent of the money collected goes back to the clubs whose members are playing in the virtual games. So if you haven’t braved the virtual games, find a partner and get on board! It’s a fun way to spend some of that extra time that we are spending indoors!
