Hats Off to Dan Evers

Dan is a new Life Master! Dan started playing bridge around 1995 in Mount Vernon, but rarely played a tournament. There were not a lot of points to be had playing in Mount Vernon with a three-table game and several very good players.

He served as the manager of the Mount Vernon club for several years until it could not get a two-table game and folded. He started playing in O’Fallon in 2014 and earned more points in three years than he had in Mount Vernon.

He had his name published twice in the Bridge Bulletin’s “It’s Your Call” article. He did place first out of 22 tables at a 199er game in Saint Louis during an NABC in 2007 with a partner that he had pickup up about 10 minutes before the game started. He did very well at the Saint Louis Regional recently where he played with Linda Key. They earned 27 gold points together. At the time he thought he was going to be short some red points and did not think about becoming a life master at the time.
