News from Southern Illinois-Paducah Unit 223 Editor: Karen Coe, 12761 Webb Hill Rd., Ewing IL 62836 |
After being unable to attend Tunica Regional, we decided to go away for a fall weekend at a sectional held at a Kentucky State Resort Park. The Resort, the weather and the tournament were all lovely, but the computer-generated hands were bizarre all weekend, and had my husband swearing someone had pushed the "Nasty Button" on the computer! Here is just one hand. Sitting East, vulnerable, Dealer West, you hold:
♠ Void
♥ QJ1032
♦ J9
♣ AQ10865
Partner opens with (guess what?) 1S, and after you respond 1NT (forcing), he rebids 3S. What is your rebid? Vote at finesse002002@yahoo.com
Results of your votes, the full deal and Deep Finesse analysis will be in the next Advocate.

Many of you have asked me about the Okawville Tournament, usually found on the schedule about this time of year. The tournament had problems with venue availability this year, but we believe this lovely sectional will be back on the tournament calendar again next year.
