How to register your club for a Sectional-Tournament-at-Clubs (STaC)

We have two Sectional-Tournament-at-Club events coming up in District 8:
   Royal STaC (black, silver, red and gold points) -- March 27 - April 2
   Spring STaC (silver points) -- May 1-7

To run these special games for your players, your club needs to register. This is not particularly difficult, but the ACBL makes you click a lot of links to get there.

First of all, only the person officially signed up as the Club Manager (or the ACBL director assigned to the STaC) can register a club for a STaC. I can’t do it for you. (If you’re having serious problems getting registered, let me know and I can try to get the director to register you, but please try it yourself first.)

In order to register, you must have set your password for the MyACBL portal on the ACBL web site. Most people have done this at some point, but if you haven’t, you’ll need to do that first. Just go to http://acbl.org and click on MyACBL at the top of the page. Enter your player number and create an account. (Once you’re there, you’ll find all kinds of information about your masterpoints, your club, etc. It’s an excellent source of information.)

To register your club for a STaC week:

 1)  Go to MyACBL and log in.

 2)  On the list on the left, click on ‘Find a Tournament’. (There are actually multiple routes to get to the right page, but this is probably the easiest.)

 3)  Rather than try to wade through the whole list of tournaments, click on the “District” line and drop down to “8”. Then hit ‘search’. That will give you the list of all tournaments in our District in 2023. {While you’re there, make a note of all the wonderful tournaments you can attend this year to support D8 bridge.}

 4)  Scroll down to “D8 STaC” (next one is March 27-April 2) and click “Info”.

 5)  Click “Club Administration”.

 6)  Click “Registration Form”.

 7)  If you are registered as a club manager, your club’s information should come up on the screen. Go to the bottom of the screen and enter the day and session for which you want to register. If you’re running a restricted-point game, you’ll enter that as well.

8)  If you have multiple sessions during the week, click “Add session” and keep filling out the information until you’re done. When you’re done, be sure to click “Submit”.

IMPORTANTWhen it gets close to the time for the STaC, you can go back through Step 5, only instead of clicking “Registration Form” for step 6, you can click “Game Setup and Reporting Instructions”. That should give you a document that guides you through the steps of entering your game correctly in ACBLScore and then sending in the results to the director. It should also tell you how to send the sanction fees to me so I don’t bug you about it.  (This document will also be emailed to you when we get close to game day, but if you don’t see the email or lose the document, it should be available here.)

After the tournament, you can go back to D8 STaC in step 4 and click on “Results” to see how everyone did.
