ACBL Director's Report

       District 8 Representative on the ACBL Board of Directors
 

Dear fellow members of District 8:

I am in my 21st and final year of representing you on the ACBL Board of Directors. To reduce the size of the Board, ACBL has consolidated districts into regions that will each be represented by one director. Our District 8 is now in Region 7 with Districts 10 and 11, which includes states to the south and east of our area (see map at right). We will be represented by Larry Sealy of Huntsville AL.

Larry is relatively new on the Board, but has quickly become a valued member. He serves as vice chair of the Appeals and Charges committee. He is also very knowledgeable on bridge issues. Please welcome him to our district and attend the Zoom meetings he plans on holding to further communicate with you.

In this issue of the Advocate, Larry has provided a copy of his report from the November Board of Directors meeting in Phoenix AZ. The Board has a committee that prepares this report, which we can add to as we see fit. I am not submitting a report since mine would look just like Larry’s.

I hope to see many of you at our regional tournaments in Champaign (May 23-28) and St. Louis (August 14-20) this summer.
