Club-level qualifying:

Qualifying period is June, July and August. Each club may hold two qualifying games per sanctioned session in each month.

Qualifying games may be held in face-to-face clubs and in ACBL virtual clubs on Bridgebase Online. Check with your local club manager for dates of the games in your area.

To qualify for the District finals, you must finish in the top 50% of your stratum or score at least 50% in a club qualifying game. You can earn qualification in any club in any District. If you qualified anywhere and are a member of District 8, you are eligible to play in the District 8 finals.

Flights:

Flight A:  Open to any player

Flight B:  0-2500 masterpoints

Flight C:  Non-Life Masters with 0-500 masterpoints

The effective date for determining masterpoint eligibility is May 6, 2022. This will be the total in the masterpoint report that's included in your June 2022 Bridge Bulletin.

District 8 Finals in all three flights are tentatively scheduled for Sunday, November 13, 2022. Place and times will be announced later. The event may be held at a site in central Illinois or online on Bridgebase.com.

You can play with any partner who is a member of District 8 and who qualified in a club-level qualifying game. You do not have to have played as a partnership at the club level.

The top three pairs in Flight A and the top four pairs in Flights B and C will advance to the national finals in their respective flights. The top two pairs in each flight will receive cash awards to subsidize travel to the national finals.

National Finals will be held at the 2023 Spring North American Bridge Championships in New Orleans LA.  Flight A: Wednesday and Thursday, March 8 & 9, 2023. Flights B & C: Saturday & Sunday, March 18 & 19, 2023.
