Coming up:

North American Pairs qualifying games are being held at local clubs in June, July and August. These special games offer more than double the points of regular club games. Qualifiers advance to the District 8 finals in November, where winners and runners-up will receive travel awards to attend the national finals in New Orleans LA in March 2023. Contact your local club manager for the dates of the qualifying games in your area.

More opportunities for extra points are available in ACBL's “Back to the Clubs” promotion -- June 27-July 10 and November 7-20.  During these two two-week periods, all face-to-face club games can be run as upgraded club championships.

ACBL's annual Longest Day charity weekend is June 18-19. Check with your local club for special games to benefit the Alzheimer's Association. For online play, your Central & Southern Illinois Virtual Bridge Club is hosting three special games, all offering double masterpoint awards:

      Saturday, June 18 -- Open Pairs at 12:10 pm

      Saturday, June 18 -- Open & 499er Swiss Teams (499er at 6:30 pm, Open at 6:50 pm)

      Sunday, June 19 -- Open Pairs at 6:50 pm 

The next Central Illinois tournament is the Bloomington-Normal Summer Sectional -- July 8-9 at the First Christian Church in Bloomington. This is a Friday-Saturday schedule with single-session 299er Pairs and Open Combo Pair/Team events at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. both days. Masterpoint awards will be 20 percent higher than normal.
