New Life Masters
Mike and Ginny Dimond of Elmhurst came to the regional needing only a few
gold points to make LM. They were celebrating Saturday night after placing fifth
in the Gold Rush Pairs. They added more the next day when they placed fourth in
the Sunday Gold Rush Pairs.
It's fitting that they made LM at this regional. They met each other playing bridge here in Champaign 40 years ago, got married and have remained

Cheer on our members in Vegas
Central Illinois will be well represented at the
upcoming North American Bridge Championships in Las Vegas. Our Unit teams won three of the four flights in the
qualifying round of the District 8 Grand National Teams, held in April, and
they'll be in Las Vegas in July to compete in the national finals.

Four University of Illinois students will also be competing in the 2014
Collegiate Teams Championship in Las Vegas. Teams from 22 colleges and
universities entered the first round of the event, held online in February, and
the top eight teams qualified for the finals. Congratulations and good luck to
Peter Yeh, Shaoning Zhang, Kenneth Koh & Jieyang Xu.
Grand National Team play begins on July 15. The College Championships will be
held on July 19 & 20. You can follow our players' progress in the tournament's
