At the 2013 St. Louis January Sectional, Roger Lord broke the 10,000 masterpoint barrier to earn the coveted title of Grand Life Master.

Roger
achieved his national title and three other close finishes all with native St.
Louis players. He came in third in the 1972 Spingold and second in the 1973
Grand National Teams, playing with Jerry Levitt, Norbert Kremer and Ron Smith.
He finished second in the 2004 Silodor Open Pairs with his partner Jacque
Sincoff. Roger won his North American Championship at the 2003 Nationals in
Philadelphia playing with Alan Popkin in the Silver Ribbon Pairs.
The St. Louis sectional was held May 17-19 2013, and a good time was had by all. There were 1328.41 masterpoints earned by 424 players at 357 tables.

From August 19-25 2013 all roads lead to St. Louis, MO where the annual Gateway to the West Regional will be held at the Renaissance Hotel, 9801 Natural Bridge Rd.
The 2013 tournament features five Knockout events, two 2-session gold-rush events for players up to 750 masterpoints, as well as two 2-session A/X Pairs events.
