Donna is my regular Monday partner, so though our conversations I have learned much about Donna’s life. Being raised in eastern Pennsylvania, Donna later meets her husband Doug while he was in college. Doug also likes to join his wife at the Rockford Club when he is not working. The Cart’s have three girls and seven grandchildren. Donna is visiting one of the daughters in Arizona this week so I hope my memory won’t fail me.
Donna is an avid and very committed bridge player and over the last few years has played more games at the Rockford Club than any other member. She also, is very prolific at winning points. Donna needed only .04 silver points to not only becomes a Life Master, but also, a Bronze Life Master. Playing with life partner Doug and team mates Tara Mufich and me in a Swiss Team Event at the March Elgin Section, she earned the needed fraction of a silver point to become a double “LM”.
Donna attributes her success to her many fine partners including her husband Doug, Karen Pickelsimer, Earl Anderson, Carla Kieckhefer, Roger Dieringer, and many other players at the Rockford Club she has sat across as a partner in crime. When Donna is not playing bridge, she might be bowling (170 average) or playing golf. Her other spare time is spent with her two grandchild that live in Rockford.
