♣  Intro to Bridge -- Online classes starting in March & April

If you have friends or family members who would like to learn to play, ACBL is offering convenient and affordable online classes -- ten 90-minute, play-as-you-learn lessons for $50. At least ten different times and start dates are available through April 7. More information is here.

 ♣  Silver Point Sectional-Tournament-at-Clubs (STAC) -- May 2-8, Local clubs

Lots of silver points in special games at your local clubs. See the ACBL website for updated results during and after STAC week.

 ♣  District 8 Grand National Teams -- May 7-8, Springfield IL

Four flights for teams of 4, 5 or 6 players. Winners in each flight will advance to the national finals at the Summer NABC in Providence RI. See the April issue for more details. 

 ♣  Illini Regional cancelled

The Illini Regional, originally scheduled for May 24-30 in Champaign, has been cancelled for 2022. We hope to be back next year -- May 23-29, 2023.

In Memory

We are saddened by news of the passing of Sandy Roberts, 85. Sandy and her husband Jim were active players in the Springfield area for many years. Both Life Masters, they were also long-time volunteers who served on the Unit Board and chaired local sectionals and regionals.

In Springfield, Sandy was a realtor and Jim owned a men's clothing store. They retired and moved to Gulf Shores AL in the early 1990s and Jim passed away ten years ago. In recent years, Sandy had been living in Dallas TX with her daughter.
