District 8 hosted its first Charity Week for clubs during the first week of October. Chairman Karl Dencker encouraged all District clubs to host at least one of the games, which offered extra masterpoint awards for a $1/player donation to the ACBL Educational Foundation. Twenty-four different clubs sponsored 37 games during the week. The total of 291.5 tables raised more than $1215 for the charity.
