Club News

It appears that the clubs in unit 223 have survived the pandemic most are back to face-to-face bridge. There have been a few changes, though. Gail Dare bought the Edwardsville Club, which now has games on Wednesday at 12:30 and Friday at 6:30. The games are held at Immanuel Methodist in Edwardsville. The Saluki Bridge Club in Marion is now meeting at Kokopelli Golf Club and the Monday Bridge Group in Harrisburg is meeting at the First Presbyterian Church. Below is a list of all the clubs in Unit 223.

Although many clubs have returned face-to-face, we still have many opportunities to play in a virtual game. The Central Illinois and Southern Illinois Consortium is still running many games a week. The schedule has been cut back a little, so check out the Central and Southern Illinois Virtual Club website to find the schedule. If you want to improve your bidding and play, free online bridge lessons are still being offered. At this time, Beginner lessons are being offered on Tuesdays, 11:00 – 12:30 and Intermediate lessons are being offered on Thursdays, 3:00 – 4:30.

Also, for face-to-face clubs, don’t forget to take advantage of your free eight Club Championships and your free two Upgraded Club Championships before the year’s end. That’s 10 weeks of special games! In addition, August will be the final month wherein all clubs may run NAP qualifying games. Please schedule no more than two games with a NAP rating for each session you regularly hold.
