Flying highBarb Bass of Princeton IL has many interests, a lot of energy and a keen sense of adventure. The 83-year-old recently tried skydiving (that's her in the photo) and -- perhaps more challenging -- playing bridge virtually non-stop for almost 12 hours! On June 21, Peoria clubs hosted four games as part of ACBL's "Longest Day" marathon for charity. Barb played in all four sessions, starting at 9:00 a.m., and helped the club raise more than $1850 for Alzheimers research. Others who played in all four sessions were Shirley Block, Joann Schroeder, Zach Freehill and Charlie Morton. Congratulations -- and a big thank you -- to all who participated in this special event. When Barb isn't jumping out of planes, she usually plays three times a week at Peoria-area clubs. She also enjoyed ziplining a few years ago and is already planning her next adventure: snorkeling. You can experience the thrill of her 2.5-mile parachute jump in this video on YouTube.
