Fact, Figures and Comments Related to the Rockin' Rockford Regional Tournament

As reported by Karl Dencker, Unit Board President and Tournament Director, here is some of the data related to the Rockin' Rockford Regional Tournament. Consumed were 45 pizzas, over 200 bottles of good wine, 250 hot dogs, 360 cans of beer, 120 two liter bottles of soda, 1,100 cookies, 25 pounds of potato chips, 20 large bags of nacho chips, 63 can of frozen orange juice, 28 pounds of ground beef for sloppy joes and 720 donuts. In addition to many rave comments about the regional and the fine hospitality, 823 player participated making up 1173 tables, an increase of 10 percent over the previous years tournament.

Karl would also like to recognize some of the people who helped make the tournament an enjoyable experience for our guest. They included Doug Gugger, who headed up hospitality, with the assistance of Yolanda Simmons who prepared the continental breakfast every morning, and Pat Benedict who ably helped throughout the rest of the day. Yolanda and Pat are new on the hospitality team. Also, of course, were Judy and Bob Coffey who have been covering hospitality for the past couple years. They are moving to Las Vegas and will be missed.When some extra help was needed Lou and Dave Jenkins were there. Carolin Bohlin helped with caddy duties and Don Malone who volunteer at the last moment headed the partnership chair. These are just a few -- for a successful regional it takes a lot of help -- of which a lot is behind the scene.
