Meritorious Service Award

At the May sectional, President Linda Siebert presented Unit 143 member Jennifer Luner with the Meritorious Service Award in honor of Jennifer’s almost 20 years of service to the unit and to the St. Louis bridge community.

Here are a few of Jennifer’s contributions:
   Unit president 2006-2007.
Datebook production and continued involvement as proofreader.
Coordination of North American Pairs and Grand National Teams as well as St Louis Knockouts and Bragging Rights matches vs. Kansas City.
Production of the Daily Bulletin for St. Louis regionals.
Member of original Unit 143 website design team and ongoing position as webmaster.

Jennifer continues to give many hours of volunteer service to maintaining and enriching Unit 143 website.

After thanking her husband Lee Hastings for his support, Jennifer said, “I receive great satisfaction seeing what we have accomplished with the website and with over 1,700,000 hits I think we must be doing something worthwhile. I believe we are all so fortunate to be part of this Unit … and if it takes a village to keep bridge thriving, then Unit 143 is a metropolis.”

To cap off the day, Jennifer -- with partner Carol Hamilton and teammates Lee Hastings (Jennifer’s husband) and Mark Ehret -- took second place in the highly competitive Sunday Swiss.
