2015 Regional News

Although we are all disappointed not to be playing in Metropolis this June, due to losing our venue, I am pleased to report that we are back in business for next year, June of 2015. A venue has been located and reserved for next year (2015) in Effingham IL. Paul Hartke will be serving as tournament chair with generous volunteer assistance from Effingham area bridge players. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

NAP Qualifying Games

June, July, and August NAP Qualifying Games will be held in local duplicate bridge clubs. These games pay extra points and provide funds for the winning District level pairs to participate in NAP events at the Spring NABC. To go on to play at the District Level (and possibly qualify for a free trip to a national bridge tournament) pairs must qualify in a local club game. Look for these events at your local club. Clubs are permitted to hold 2 NAP Qualifying games (per sanctioned session) each month during June, July, and August.

If you don't see these events being offered, please encourage your local Club Managers and Club Directors to hold them! Even if you are not interested in going on to District and National Level, they are a fine opportunity to earn extra-nice black points at your local duplicate club.

Sectional Tournament

Unit 223's next Sectional Tournament will be the Edwardsville Bridge Club Sectional, July 25th through July 27th , to be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 7132 Marine Road (Hwy 143), Edwardsville, IL.

This tournament will feature a full three days of bridge, with two sessions on Friday, two sessions on Saturday, and Swiss Teams on Sunday. New this year is a 299ers Stratified Pairs, to be offered on Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon.
