Bridgewinners.com is celebrating the completion of its first year as one of the most dynamic bridge sites on the Internet. If you haven't yet discovered this site, plan to take a look at the wealth of education and entertainment it offers to players of all skill levels.
Gavin Wolpert (left) and former District 8 member Jason Feldman (right) launched the site in June of 2010 to give bridge players an online community and a central source of information on their favorite game. Bridge Winners now has hundreds of articles written by leading players and teachers. Regular contributors include Steve Weinstein, Eugene Hung, Ari Greenberg, Kit Woolsey, Michael Kamil, Larry Cohen and Peg Kaplan.
Site users are invited to add content, too, by posting articles on the blog page or posing problems in the Poll Forum.
In just one year, Bridge Winners has developed a reputation as a leading source of timely information on major bridge events. The site posts up-to-the-minute results, photos and analysis of the scores from USBF team trials, NABC team events (Spingold, Vanderbilt and Reisinger) and other national and international competitions.
Some other popular features on the site include:
Convention-card editor: This web-based editor allows you to create, share and print ACBL convention cards for all your partnerships. The cards you create are stored on the Bridgewinners site for handy access.
Video lessons: In Gavin Wolpert’s 26-part video series Road to Victory, he shares his thought processes on key hands from his win in the NABC Open Pairs.
Under Further Review: Experts make mistakes, too. Big ones. This series of articles analyzes the how's and why's of major disasters from high-level competition.
Poll Forum: Try the bidding and play quizzes posted here -- or submit your own problems -- then see the poll results and read others' comments.
For beginners: Build your skills and speed in counting with the online counting game.
Youth Bridge: This new section is a home for the youth bridge movement. Junior players, teachers and organizers discuss topics pertaining to the growth of youth bridge and post information about upcoming events for young players.
All of the articles, services and other features are free to everyone who registers. Just go to www.bridgewinners.com and click the "Create an account" link to join this online bridge community.
