Two new Grand Life Masters

Congratulations to Roger Lord (left) and Rod Beery (right) of St. Louis, who recently went over 10,000 masterpoints and earned the rank of Grand Life Master.

Grand LM is the highest rank in the ACBL. It requires 10,000 masterpoints and a victory in a national championship with no upper masterpoint limit. Fewer than 350 players have attained this rank since ACBL was founded in 1937.

Roger's national victory was in the NABC Silver Ribbon Pairs in 2002 with partner Alan Popkin. Rod's championship was in the NABC Senior Knockout Teams in 2004.

They are the fourth and fifth players in District 8 to achieve the rank of Grand LM. The others are the late Bob Carteaux of Fort Wayne IN, Chris Benson of LeRoy IL and Tom Kniest of St. Louis.
