“If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.”

Lavish praise on partner.  You will feed energy TO partner rather than draining it away.
Even “constructive criticism” is criticism.
Unless partner has paid you to teach – or you have a divine mandate  -- your title is “partner”, not “teacher.”

January Sectional set a new attendance record

Reasonably good winter weather (no snow nor ice) in St. Charles, MO, encouraged 496 unique players to enjoy the excitement and fun of a friendly 3-day tournament.   Pairs games attracted 84 tables on Friday. In the I/N pairs games on Saturday afternoon and evening, the total was 41 tables.  Team games were especially popular: 34 tables in Friday night’s Swiss, 5 brackets on Saturday’s KOs, 48 tables in Sunday’s 2-session Open Swiss, and 20 tables in the one-session 299er Swiss teams on Sunday.
