District 8 hosted its second annual Charity Week for clubs during the first week of October. Chairman Karl Dencker encouraged all District clubs to host at least one of the games, which offered extra masterpoint awards for a $1/player donation to the ACBL Educational Foundation. Twenty-five different clubs sponsored games and raised more than $1416 for the charity.
