A new event has been added – a Friday evening Open Pairs. This event is in addition to the Friday evening single session Swiss and the Friday evening 199er pairs events.

Bryant Marks 20,000 Masterpoint Milestone In the December 2016 issue, the Bridge Bulletin recognized Jack’s achievement. Unit 143 joins ACBL in congratulating Jack on this tremendous achievement.
Here is what Jack says about the game of bridge in his life:
When I heard that the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, I was at the bridge table with my mother, my sister and my grandmother. It was 75 years ago this week, and I was almost seven years old. I played bridge with family and friends until 1964 when I won my first whole point at Carrollton Duplicate Club on Masterpoint night. I was hooked. I played there once a week until I made Life Master in 1971.
By 1992, I’d won 5000 points, 10,000 by 2001, and my 20,000th with Tom Oppenheimer on Labor Day 2016 at the St. Louis Bridge Center. Masterpoints are great, but it was winning that really excited me. While I’ve won 125 regional events, placed 3rd and 4th in national events and 14th in the World IMP Pairs, my most proud accomplishment is winning Player of the Year in my hometown eight times, including 2013, 2014, and 2016.
My favorite partners are Milt Zlatic, Alan Popkin, Nancy Popkin, Tom Oppenheimer, Rod Van Wyck, Rod Beery, Mike Giacaman, and my wife, Linda Bryant, who I met at a bridge tournament. I look forward, every day, to seeing all the players at the Bridge Center.
