Few members of our bridge community exemplify O’Connell’s statement more than Mike Carmen.
At the 2014 Fall ACBL National
s in Providence, Rhode Island, ACBL President Phyllis Harlan awarded Mike Carmen the Volunteer of the Year. Harlan said the list of suggested winners was long and impressive, but Carmen was a standout. Although Carmen was not present, Harlan sent him a message: “Thank you for all the goodwill you spread.”At the 2014 Fall Sectional, Unit 143 President Debbie Romero presented Mike with the first
