We were saddened by the loss of Glenn Smith of Chesterfield MO. Glenn, who was 81, died on December 7 of complications from a stroke.

Glenn was an accomplished player who devoted many years of his life to volunteer work for bridge players. In 1993, he was elected as District 8 representative to the ACBL Board of Directors and served as Board treasurer. In 2000, he was elected ACBL president. He also co-chaired the NABC tournaments in St. Louis.

Our sympathies go out to Glenn's wife, Marje, and his family and friends. A full obituary will be in the February issue of the Bridge Bulletin.
