Season's Greetings for a safe and joyous holiday for all Unit 223 bridge players.

Special Greetings and thanks to all the volunteers in Unit 223 who work to make bridge activities available to us all. Thank you to those who serve on the Unit Board and Committees, as tournament chairs and on tournament committees, as club managers and directors, and in so many other positions.

I cannot even begin to enumerate the many Unit 223 players who so selflessly volunteer their time to make our Unit operate, but a great big tip of the Santa hat to you all.

Recently Elected

Congratulations to Jay Winter (Highland IL) who has recently been elected to serve a three-year term on the ACBL Education Foundation Board of Trustees.

The ACBL Education Foundation is a charitable trust fund, established in 1987, to provide grants to promote the education of bridge. Applications for grants to provide educational programs and supplies are encouraged and considered. The Foundation is administered by nine Trustees, and its goal is to make bridge a game played by people of all ages and walks of life. The Board will meet next at the NABC in Las Vegas.

Jay is a mathematics teacher for Bond County (IL) Community Unit #2 High School. He has served as a counselor at Unit 223 Youth Bridge Camp (Carlinville IL) for the last three years. Jay will also be District 8 Education Liaison.
