If someone were to pay you a dollar for every kind word you ever spoke
but collect fifty cents for every unkind word, would your partnership be rich or poor?

First time playing duplicate – and a District 8 overall winner in a Fall StaC game

Playing with Judy, his wife, Charlie Biendo had never played duplicate before. They did well enough to place overall in their Flight in District 8’s fall StaC week on Wednesday. And just in case you think it was a fluke, please note that they placed 1st  in Flt C and 2nd in Flt B in Lake St Louis’ club game on Nov 26. This just proves that being new to duplicate doesn’t mean you can’t win.

Hint: everyone go recruit newcomers, and use this story as proof that It Can Be Done.

In Flight B, Bill & Sheryl Finkenstadt were 6th, Dennis Spencer & Debbie Romero were 7th, and Donald Chase & Wojciech Golik were 13th. In Flight C, Linda Mize and Maureen Swihart were 3rd, Janet Woodley and Karen Engle were 4th, and Charles and Marie Bretzke were 5th.
