Help Wanted

Would any of my fellow computer weenies out there be willing to help with the District 8 Forum programming and maintenance?

Here's a brief summary of the system:

The programs are written in Perl. There's no database, we just use txt files. The system is currently located on a Unix server called DomainDirect, which is also where I have my website. Since most of the programs end up writing HTML files, it's also useful to know something about HTML and CSS files; we don't use any JS. Oh yes, I almost forgot, it's also useful to know something about bridge! Of the above items, knowing some Perl would be the most valuable.

The system is fairly stable, although minor problems still come up occasionally. What I've been working on of late is ways to speed up the scoring at the end of a forum, and a template article that does all the busy work at the beginning of a new forum.

The reason I'm looking for some help is that I'm not going to have as much time to devote to the system in the next year as in the two years prior, but I'm not going to vanish into the mist; I'll still be around. If you're interested, send me an email at

kent@kentfeiler.com

... and we can talk about it.

Regards,
