For when the One Great Scorer comes to write against your name,
He marks not that you won or lost, but how you played the game.

In memory

District 8 players were saddened by the passing of Sheryl Lynne Finkenstadt of St. Peters MO on February 27.

Sheryl, who was 70, was a rehabilitation counselor with Catholic Social Services and was involved in Catholic Charismatic Renewal and Marriage Encounter.

Sheryl was a talented, conscientious bridge volunteer who enjoyed giving back to the game she loved. She was active in the new St. Louis Bridge Center and served for many years as the editor of this page in the Advocate. She worked hard to inform and entertain readers with news stories, features, player profiles and lots of photos of Unit members.

Our sympathies go out to Sheryl's husband, Bill, and her six children -- Andrew, Victoria, Kathryn, Timothy, Thomas and Patricia.

Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities Archdiocese of St. Louis, 4532 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis MO (www.ccstl.org).
