Congratulations to Lynne Feldman of Champaign IL (left in photo) and Chris Benson of LeRoy IL, who won the Whitehead Women's Pairs at the Detroit Spring NABC in March.
This is the first national championship for Chris, who is a retired high-school teacher. She currently has more than 9600 masterpoints and is now on her way to becoming District 8's next Grand Life Master, which requires a total of 10,000 points and a win in a North American championship. District President Bob Carteaux is our district's only other Grand LM.
Lynne, an immigration attorney, has three previous national championships -- Master Mixed Teams (1979), Women's Swiss Teams (1986) and Women's Board-a-Match Teams (1985). She has also placed second in three other nationally rated women's events.
